Bioresources in the Eastern Region and the Demand for Bioeconomy Development in the Through Products and Services
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aims to study data of bioresources in the Eastern Region and the demand for bioeconomy development in the through products and services. It is a qualitative research study that collects data through in-depth interviews and analyzes the data from documents and project for enhancing modern economic potential with artificial intelligence and big data. Content analysis is employed, and the findings are presented through descriptive methods.
The research findings indicate that bioresources in the Eastern Region can be categorized into four main groups: plant-based bioresources, animal-based bioresources, microbial and molecular bioresources, and bioresources in coastal and marine ecosystems. Among these, durian is the most economically valuable bio resource in the Eastern Region.Additionally, durian exhibits the highest economic growth rate among raw materials in the region. The processed products derived from local bioresources are primarily food and beverages, followed by household products. The demands for bioeconomy development in the through products and services to support the bioeconomy include: the food and beverage industry using biobased raw materials from plants and aquatic animals in the production of health foods, the pharmaceutical and herbal industry, which focuses on developing pharmaceutical products from herb plants, and ecotourism and wellness tourism, which leverage biological resources as unique attractions to promote tourism. Thus, the bioresources of the Eastern Region are therefore a key factor in driving the sustainable growth of Thailand's bioeconomy.
