Factors Influencing Decision to Study in Private Vocational College of Firstyear Vocational Certificate Students in Sakon Nakhon

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the factors influencing decision to study in private vocational college of firstyear vocational certificate students in Sakon Nakhon and the guideline to develop the factors influencing decision to study in private vocational college of firstyear vocational certificate students in Sakon Nakhon. The samples of this study were the first year of the academic totaling 365, who were selected using multi-stage random sampling. The instrument used to collect data include: 1) questionnaire with a set of 5-rating scale regarding factors influencing decision to study in private vocational college obtained content validity index ranged between 0.60-1.00, discrimination power index ranged between 0.40-0.85, and reliability was at 0.86, and 2) questionnaire a check list regarding decision to study in private vocational college obtained content validity index ranged between 0.60-1.00. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product-moment correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The findings were as follows.
- The factors influencing decision to study in private vocational college of firstyear vocational certificate students in Sakon Nakhon, in overall, was at high level. There are 8 factors: 1) curriculum and teaching, 2) reputation and quality of the educational institution, 3) educational expenses, 4) aptitude and interest in future careers, 5) environment of the educational institution. 6) the teaching staff, 7) location of the educational institution, and 8) services and facilities.
- The decision to study in private vocational college of firstyear vocational certificate students in Sakon Nakhon, in overall, was at high level.
3. The factors influencing decision to study in private vocational college of firstyear vocational certificate students in Sakon Nakhon, in overall, showed positive correlation at high level with statistical significance at .01.
4. The factors influencing decision to study in private vocational college of firstyear vocational certificate students in Sakon Nakhon comprised two factors: aptitude and interest in future careers (X4), and services and facilities (X8). The predictive power was at 79.20 percent, and could be written in the
form of the equation as follows:

- The guideline to develop the factors influencing decision to study in private vocational college of firstyear vocational certificate students in Sakon Nakhon comprised four components: 1) aptitude and interest in future careers and 2) services and facilities.
