A Conceptual Metaphor of Gods in Worship Songs with Isan Style Christians

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the conceptual metaphors of Gods in worship songs with Isan style Christian. All collected data were 226 songs from books of worship songs and the Youtube channel, which were specifically selected toward language used and sung in Isan dialect.

              The findings revealed that there were 18 kinds of conceptual metaphors of Gods in the worship songs; those were [Gods are deities.], [Gods are nature.], [Gods are marshals.], [Gods are asylums.], [Gods are fathers.], [Gods are lighting.], [Gods are masters.], [Gods are kings.], [Gods are doctrines.], [Gods are nourishments.], [Gods are judges.], [Gods are headmen.], [Gods are doctors.], [Gods are voyages.], [Gods are companions.], [Gods are admirers.], [Gods are treasures.], and [Gods are homes.], respectively.
