Economic Value of Indigenous Vegetables by Older Persons in Papai Municipality, Sansai District Chiang Mai Province

Abstract
At present, number of Thai older persons is growing rapidly. The country should realize to an "ageing society" according to seniors will become the significant players to develop the country economy in the future. Therefore, this research aims to estimate the consumptive direct use value of indigenous vegetables which planted by seniors in Papai municipality, San Sai district, Chiang Mai province by Net Village Product (GVP) model. The result presented that the total consumptive direct use value of indigenous vegetables in 2020 equals more than THB 4.20 million. Nevertheless, promoting seniors to grow the indigenous vegetables is not only reducing their household spending but also stimulating them to exercise.
