Development of the Automobile Preventive and Suppressive Program in Region 2

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the development of the automobile preventive and suppressive program in Region 2. The purposes of this research are 1. to investigate principles, theories, and concepts related to the development of the automobile preventive and suppressive program in Region 2, 2. to examine and analyze the circumstances of the problems and impacts of the development of the automobile preventive and suppressive program in Region 2, 3. to examine and analyze the automobile preventive and suppressive program in foreign countries, and 4. to conduct the automobile preventive and suppressive program in the provincial police Region 2 through the qualitative research methodology, which consists of documentary research and in-depth interview.     

               The research findings showed that the existing application to prevent and suppress automobile theft of the Royal Thai Police lacked processes or mechanisms to enable the stolen car owners to examine the car movement and there is no alert towards the users, as well as no system working with other related agencies. Moreover, the application to prevent and suppress automobile theft is considered one of important mechanisms and enables the prevention and suppression of automobile theft to be more efficient. This leads to analyze and propose the guidelines of the development of the automobile preventive and suppressive program in Region 2 as the significant findings of this research.   

               The researcher would like to propose the guidelines of the development of the automobile preventive and suppressive program in Region 2 as follows: (1) the application name, (2) the qualified applicants, (3) serial number/vehicle identification number in the vehicle registration, (4) vehicle registration, (5) information on the automobile coordinates, signal information giving alert towards the car owner, and giving information to the Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Center, and (6) the agencies related to the prevention and suppression of automobile theft.
