An Analysis of Costs and Returns on Bamboo Production in Sakaeo Province.

Abstract

This objective of the study is to examine the general information of the bamboo farmers, it is aimed to study the feasibility in financial aspects as well as the guidelines for development of bamboo plantation. Data was collected by means of questionnaire answered by 46 bamboo farmers from the Sakaeo province of Thailand. The result of financial potentiality analysis at a discount rate of 6.45% demonstrated that the present value is 58,705.35 baht; the capitalization rate is 1.52, and the rate of return is 27.57% with the payback period of 5 years and 4 months. A sensitivity analysis, on a condition that the cost increases by 15 % and the income decreases by 15 %, returned a result
