บทคัดย่อ
ทักษะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษเป็นทักษะที่มีความจำเป็นสำหรับบุคลากรด้านการท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทย เนื่องจากต้องอำนวยความสะดวกแก่นักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างชาติ ปัจจุบันกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬาได้จัดตั้งศูนย์ช่วยเหลือนักท่องเที่ยวท้องถิ่นและชาวต่างชาติในจังหวัดสำคัญทางการท่องเที่ยว ในการนี้เจ้าหน้าที่ช่วยเหลือนักท่องเที่ยวเป็นบุคลากรสำคัญของศูนย์ฯนี้ อย่างไรก็ตามเจ้าหน้าที่ส่วนใหญ่ประสบปัญหาในการสื่อสารด้านการฟังและการพูดภาษาอังกฤษที่ส่งผลต่อการสนทนาเพื่อช่วยเหลือนักท่องเที่ยว ดังนั้นงานวิจัยนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาการฟังและการพูดภาษาอังกฤษของเจ้าหน้าที่ช่วยเหลือนักท่องเที่ยวประจำท่าอากาศยานนานาชาติภูเก็ต และนำเสนอวิธีการแก้ปัญหาดังกล่าวจากหลากหลายมุมมองของพวกเขา งานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพนี้ใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง ผลจากการวิจัยพบว่าเจ้าหน้าที่ประจำศูนย์ฯดังกล่าวมีปัญหาการสื่อสารทั้งด้านการฟังและด้านการพูดภาษาอังกฤษในหลากหลายมิติ นอกจากนี้พวกเขาใช้กลยุทธ์ต่าง ๆ ในการแก้ปัญหาการสื่อสารเฉพาะหน้าในการทำงาน งานวิจัยนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นความพยายามพัฒนาประสิทธิภาพการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารของบุคลากรด้านการท่องเที่ยวไทย
