The purpose of this research was to study the development of the visible learning cycle to enhance teachers’ instructional capacity by adapting the open approach teaching. The sample consisted of 2 Thai language teachers of Plearnpattana School and 120 grade 1 students of the academic year 2018 in a 10 week study. The research tools used were 1) 20 Thai subject lesson plans and lesson study process 2) assessment and development tools such as : Records of lessons study, Records of teacher’s learnings and improvements and Records of teacher’s development.
Research findings showed that: 1) the teachers’ teaching skills improved 2) students’ learning achievements increased, and 3) supervisors were a key factor in the teachers’ development. The key findings were the way to solve illiteracy and the way to enable a smooth learning transition from kindergarten to grade 1.
