Study on the Management of Migrant Workers in private organizations

Abstract

          This research study has the objectives 1) to study the management of foreign workers in private organizations and 2) to obtain guidelines for the management of foreign workers in an agricultural processing business. The research study in this case is a qualitative data collection research study. The researcher used the data collection method through in-depth interviews during the recruitment process. The development and maintenance consist of 2 phases. Phase 1 is to study the management of foreign workers in private organizations. The sample group was executives/managers. Head of Foreign Workers in Private Business From agricultural businesses, food businesses, and clothing businesses, 3 organizations, totaling 12 people, Phase 2, to find ways to manage foreign workers in private businesses. The sample group is the chairman of the board of directors.  human resources executives/managers 4 people and 2 experts from the Ministry of Labor, totaling 6 people. The tools used in both phases were in-depth interviews, content analysis, and data analysis.


          The research found that the management of foreign workers in private organizations and the management of foreign workers in an agricultural processing business were nearly the same. The recruitment and selection of foreign workers to work has already been recommended by people who worked in the past. Which may be relatives, friends, brothers or sisters, recommend and persuade each other to work. The organization also uses recruitment services from the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare. The development of foreign workers has different methods Most organizational cultures focus on developing skilled workers to be consistent with the assigned jobs. There is training for employees before coming to work. To understand and make the least mistakes in the work. And develop the language to be able to communicate well with bosses and colleagues who are Thai. As for how to maintain foreign workers to stay with our organization for a long time The organization focuses on paying for the right job, including focusing on various welfare such as housing benefits, food, medical care, bonuses, etc., like Thai employees.
