Abstract

The study aimed at analyzing the teaching process of Home Economics for Primary
teacher class and integrating King’s philosophy to develop Home Economics for Primary
teacher’s class. The population of the study were 33 first year students majoring in Primary
Educational teacher major, enrolling Home Economics for Primary teachersubject of 2/2017
academic year and also students of SMART teacher project.Active learning process was used
as the tool of studying and descriptive analysis was used to analyzed the data
The study found that teaching Home Economics previously used lecturing technique.
The students gained only theoretical knowledge and ideas. Teacher should use teaching
technique which maximize learning process by aware of their individual differences, enhancing
their potential based on their ability, focusing and motivating them to apply their knowledge
into practice and their everyday activities. The integrating of King’s philosophy and the development
of teaching Home Economics for Primary teachers showed that the LPOPD teaching
process which included 1) Lecturing 2) Problem base 3) Operation 4) Presentation and 5)
Discussions, was appropriateprocess. After using this process, the students were more active.
Their responsibility were enhance. Group process and team work skills were increased. They
could solve the immediate problems and do work planning themselves. Their living cost was
decrease due to the exchange, giving and selling products from the project. They could apply
their knowledge into practice and daily life activities.
