SATISFACTION OF PEOPLE WITH MANAGEMENT PUBLIC FACILITIES OF CHAO NUA TEMPLE DAMNOENSADUAK DISTRICT, RATCHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the level of public satisfaction towards the public utility management of Wat Chao Nuea, 2) study and compare opinions towards public satisfaction towards the public utility management of Wat Chao Nuea classified by personal factors, and 3) study problems, obstacles, and suggestions towards public satisfaction towards the public utility management. This research is a mixed-methods study using a quantitative research by applying a questionnaire with a sample of 375 people. Data were analyzed using research statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and qualitative research by interviewing 9 key informants. Data were analyzed using content analysis. The research results found that 1) the level of public satisfaction towards the public utility management of Wat Chao Nuea, Damnoen Saduak District, Ratchaburi Province, overall, was at a high level. When considering each aspect, opinions were at a high level in all 5 aspects: standardization, convenience, cleanliness, tidiness, and discipline, respectively. 2) The results of the comparison of public satisfaction towards the public utility management of Wat Chao Nuea classified by gender, age, and occupation showed no difference in all aspects, which rejected the set hypothesis. And the sample groups with different educational levels had significantly different opinions at the statistical level of 0.05. 3) Problems, obstacles, and suggestions for public satisfaction with the management of public utilities found that the knowledge provision on the management of temple property was not systematic for monks and novices. The construction period was not consistent with the season. The construction budget was insufficient. The schedule for cleaning the temple was not appropriate. There was a lack of inspection of the temple's public utilities to ensure they were in usable condition. There was no accounting of public utilities in order of size and importance. The temple's monks and agencies involved in driving the 5S policy did not provide training and promotion as much as they should. Some monks in the temple and the public still lacked importance in developing the temple to be a center of learning with the 5S method so that the temple and the community would be orderly.
