THE EDUCATIONAL INEQUALITY OF STATELESS STUDENTS IN CHONG KHAEP SUBDISTRICT, PHOP PHRA DISTRICT, TAK PROVINCE: SITUATIONS, OBSTACLES AND SOLUTIONS

Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative study is to examine the issues, roadblocks, and recommendations for facilitating stateless children's access to educational opportunities. Following graduation from Grade 6, in the vicinity of Chong Kheap Subdistrict, Phop Phra District, Tak Province. The majority of informant groups consist of educators and administrators. Students without citizenship and their parents at three schools: St. Paul Convent Phop Phra School, Ban Tee Kapo School, and Ban Khun Huai Chaeng Chaeng School. A total of thirty persons worked on the study's organization, which included choosing a particular sample, conducting in-depth interviews utilizing interview forms, and employing analytical data to assess the findings material. The results of the research found that 1) Access to educational opportunities for stateless students in these areas still has many obstacles. Such obstacles arise from individual factors such as economic and social obstacles. Attitudinal barriers for stateless students Families of students including personnel involved in education Discrimination has occurred leading to deprivation of access to educational opportunities for stateless students. as well as obstacles arising from ignorance of rights and information related to education, which are more of a problem in practice than in policy. 2) Issues and barriers that influence stateless children's choice to pursue higher education beyond Grade 6. Specifically, social and economic issues have led to some stateless pupils opting to leave school after finishing Grade 6 and join the workforce.
