GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPING THE INFORMATION SYSTEM OF SCHOOLS TO EXPAND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT EDUCATION OFFICE, KAMPHAENG PHET PRIMARY EDUCATION AREA OFFICE, DISTRICT 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) To study the conditions and problems in the management of the information technology system of extended opportunity schools in Mueang District, under the Office of Kamphaeng Phet Primary Educational Service Area 1. 2) To find ways to improve the management of the information technology system of extended opportunity schools in Mueang District, under the Office of Kamphaeng Phet Primary Educational Service Area 1. This research employs a mixed-method approach, combining survey research. The sample group includes administrators and teachers in extended opportunity schools in Mueang District, under the Office of Kamphaeng Phet Primary Educational Service Area 1, during the academic year 2023, as well as a total of 174 experts. The research tools used are questionnaires and structured interviews. Data analysis was performed by calculating frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The research results found that the overall condition of the information technology system in the extended opportunity schools in Mueang District is at a high level (mean = 4.29, S.D. = 0.75). The problems with the information technology system in these schools are at a moderate level overall. The guidelines for improving the information technology system in the extended opportunity schools in Mueang District cover all five aspects. The administrators should train personnel responsible for the school's information system to understand the objectives in all five aspects. They should establish a clear, systematic, and consistent operational plan across all units within the school. Personnel responsible for data processing should be appointed based on their knowledge and abilities. Complete data and information should be systematically stored according to the established plan, with regular updates to keep the information current. The data and information services should align with the objectives and meet the needs of users and the institution. The practitioners should present information technology continuously, keep it up-to-date, and ensure it can be used promptly.
