THE APPLICATION OF TRISIKKHA PRINCIPLES IN DECIDING THE ELECTION OF LOCAL POLITICIANS OF THE PEOPLE IN SONGKHLA MUNICIPALITY, SONGKHLA PROVINCE

Abstract

The purpose of this research article is to study 1) The use of the Threefold Principle in deciding to elect local politicians for the people in Songkhla Municipality and 2) Guidelines for developing the use of the Threefold Principle for deciding to elect local politicians for the people in Songkhla Municipality. It is a mixed research method, namely 1) Quantitative research. The sample group consisted of 397 people who were eligible to vote for mayor of Songkhla using Taro Yamane's ready-made tables and simple random sampling spread across all 4 constituencies.
2) Qualitative research. Key informants include the Mayor of Songkhla. Deputy Mayor of Songkhla Songkhla Municipality Permanent Secretary, community president, citizens, and monks were purposively selected randomly, a total of 6 people. Research tools included questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Statistics used in research and data analysis include frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Descriptive content analysis. The results of the research found that: 1) The use of the threefold principle in deciding to elect local politicians of the people in Songkhla Municipality. Overall, every aspect was at a high level, with an average value ( = 4.29) when considering each aspect. The aspect with the highest average value is the Chittasikkha principle (concentration), average value ( = 4.48), followed by the Silasikkha principle (sila), the average value ( = 4.44), and the Pannasikkha principle (pañña), average value ( = 3.97) respectively, and 2) Guidelines for developing the use of the Threefold Principles in deciding to elect local politicians for the people in Songkhla Municipality, Songkhla Province. It was found that people must decide to elect local politicians. with good behavior Be a person who respects the rules of society to the point of being a good example. Have patience in working until it is completed. Have knowledge and understanding about local development. and have gratitude to their father, mother, and community
