GUIDELINES FOR PRESERVING LOCAL WISDOM IN MAKING HAND - CRAFTED LANTERNS CASE STUDY: BAN SAN KLANG, BO HAEO SUBDISTRICT, MUEANG DISTRICT, LAMPANG PROVINCE

Abstract

The purpose of this research article is to study the conservation guidelines for hand - crafted lantern making of the Ban San Klang community, Bo Haeo Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lampang Province. Qualitative research Tools used were in-depth interviews and focus groups. By choosing specifically from an entrepreneur who makes hand-crafted candlesticks of the Ban San Klang community, Bo Haeo Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lampang Province, 7 cases. Analyze content data and summarize the overall picture. The research results found that the lamp-making profession has been with the community for 50 years. Currently, there are 7 people who work as community sculptors, using them as additional occupations. They are between 50 - 75 years old and have been sculpted for at least 20 years. Learn how to sculpt from family and people in the community it takes about 1 - 2 months to learn. The molded patterns are traditional patterns following the designs of our ancestors.
