COMPARATION OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, PERCEPTION AND PREVENTION & CONTROL BEHAVIOR ON DENGUE HEMORRHAGIC FEVER AMONG THE PEOPLE IN EPIDEMIC VILLAGE AND NON - INCIDENCE VILLAGE IN NAMPUD SUB - DISTRICT, MUEANG DISTRICT, TRANG PROVINCE

Abstract

          The Objectives of this research article were to study compare the differences between knowledge attitude perception and prevention & control behavior on Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever among people in non - incidence village and epidemic village in Nampud sub - district, Mueang district, Trang province. The sample were the household representatives of 266 people. (epidemic village 149 people and non - incidence Village 117 people). Simple random sampling method was used to select sample. Statistics used percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the mann –whitney u test. The results revealed that: 1) The majority of the population (65.80%) in non - incidence village are female, age average of people was 50.03 years, had knowledge mean score of 14.15 (high level) , attitude mean score of 4.05 (good level), overall perception mean score of 3.65 (moderate level), prevention and control behavior on Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever mean score of 3.91(good level). The most of samples (78.50%) in epidemic village are female, age average of people was 46.01 years, had knowledge mean score of 10.35 (moderate level), attitude mean score of 3.97 (good level), overall perception mean score of 3.35 (moderate level), prevention and control behavior on Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever mean score of 3.13 (good level). 2) The population in non - incidence village and epidemic village are different in their knowledge, attitude, perceived severity, perceived barriers and prevention and control behaviors of dengue fever with statistically significant at 0.01 levels.
