Abstract

Educational Guidance is a process to help learners to know how to study, search information and seek additional knowledge as well as to comprehend the criteria of educational course or program selection based on their interest and capability. Furthermore, it enables learners to plan about their future education, extend their wisdom, find a way to select an educational institution, know how to get ready for admission, be able to adapt with environments in the educational institutions and apply knowledge for career option. Occupational guidance is another essential assistive and supportive process for individuals to understand the world of occupation where varieties and diversity of works exist. It helps those who are guided to know how to think cautiously and make a right decision in working based on personality, competency and aptitude of each person. Additionally, it helps them to have emotional maturity, morality and virtue and be aware of multiple intelligence. They also know how to think, make a decision, solve problems during crisis, plan about further study and occupation and adapt themselves to be happy in their lives. Furthermore, it is important for them to have self-development at highest level in all aspects by recognizing process of continuous, principle-based, and procedural actions with acceptance of individual difference and respect to human rights and freedom, with good interpersonal relationship and confidentiality. These are crucial principles of educational and occupational guidance.
