The leadership development of Monks for the Preparedness of the ASEAN Community

Abstract

The leadership development of monks for the preparedness of the ASEAN community has the following objectives: 1.To study the theory of leadership development of monks for the preparedness of the ASEAN community 2. To study the leadership development of monks to the ASEAN community 3.To study the process and guidelines for leadership development of monks for the preparedness of the ASEAN community by qualitative research. A researcher focused on studying the leadership development of monks for the preparedness of the ASEAN community by in-depth interview of 18 monks and lay mans and focus group discussion of 9 persons. The research methods consisted of 1. In-depth interview 2. Focus group discussion from in-depth interview and focus group discussion for analysis and synthesis the contents.

The findings of research were as follows:               

1. ASEAN community set up for the economic objective like trade, politics, education and Sangha Administration. 2. To have the agreement as unity to develop the trade, education, politics and Sangha organization and the role of Sangha. 3. The monks must adjust for education, propagation, society entrance, community and learn more for way of community life. 4. The monks in ASEAN community must focus on English usage and have the Buddhism activity. 5. The communication of monks in ASEAN community has the English problem. 6. Should have the language exchange in each country that will make the monks playing the major role as a part of development and preparedness the monks of ASEAN community.
