BUDDHIST ETHICS IN LAKPHRADUANHA FESTIVAL MUANG ALONG, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE.

Abstract

This objectives of this research were as follows 1. to study the history, belief on Lakphra festival, the fifth month of Along city, Nakhon Si Thammarat. 2. to study the form and ceremony on Buddhistic approach in Lakphra festival, the fifth month of Along city, Nakhon Si Thammarat. 3. to analytically study of Buddhist ethics and the adventage of Lakphra festival, the fifth month of Along city, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Which effected the way of life of Buddhist and society This is the qualitative research by searching from Buddhist scriptures, texts, research works, and in – dept interview from the key informants which are concerned whit Lakphra festival,

         The research results found that:

1. The Lakphra festival, the fifth month of Along city, Nakhon Si Thammarat, started from the past for long time to make the activety for merit making of temple,


2. The result of form and ceremony in study according found that before the festival begin they have to prepare by the faith leader group, to prepare the body of Ruaphra to put on “Nuanmai” to composed as Bussabok, to worship and offer food for monks and there are a lot of decoration on the body of Ruaphra for example; Khawporng, Khanomba, Khanomtom and to have the ceremonian for worshiping as the past, and on a lunar moon 1^stof the 5^thof the month.


3. The result of Buddhist ethics analysis found that there are clear for 1) Kamma law 2) Kindness 5 which composed of Brahmavihara and Sanghavatthu and 3) Harmony, unity, reconciliation for the purposive as need and the advantage of festival Lakphra. 1) The advantage on social and culture as the good from performance which are appeared for virtual practice, they were dedicated for Buddha. 2) The advantage in economic, 3) The advantage in religion
