Current Condition, Desirable Situations and Guidelines for Developing Good Governance of School Administrators under the Secondary Educational Area Office 22 in Nakhon Phanom Province
Abstract
The purposes of this research were (1) to study current situations and desirable situations for developing good governance of school administrators, (2) to study needs assessment for developing good governance of school administrators, and (3) to develop guidelines for developing good governance of school administrators under the Secondary Educational Area Office 22 in Nakhon Phanom Province. the samples were 360 administrators, deputy directors and teachers followed Krejcie & Morgan’s table in the sample-size specification, and they were selected by Stratified Random Sampling. There were 4 instruments used in this research: (1) a questionnaire in current situations for administration good governance of school administrators with the index of item congruence (IC) of 1.00, the discrimination between .44-.71, and the reliability of .98; (2) a questionnaire in desirable situations for administration good governance of school administrators with the index of item congruence (IC) of 1.00, the discrimination between .46-.80, and the reliability of .98; (3) a structured-interview form; and (4) a suitability and possibility assessment form of guidelines in developing guidelines for developing good governance of school administrators. The statistics used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the index modified priority needs index(PNImodified).
The results were as follows: (1) Current situations for administration good governance of school administrators were at the high level, and overall desirable situations for administration good governance of school administrators were at the highest level. (2) The highest mean of needs assessment for developing good governance of school administrators was law, morality and ethics and the principle of transparent disclosure (3) And the guidelines of develop guidelines for developing good governance of school administrators revealed the suitability at the highest level and the possibility at the high level.
