Cultural studies and study of the arts in context
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to research and review the methodology of art theory studies, especially the study of the arts through context. This is a methodology by which the arts are analyzed through a cultural studies approach. Cultural Studies started in UK as part of the New Left movement that questioned the meaning of culture. The study of cultural studies is diverse and includes the arts. Studying the arts via the cultural studies framework is not a study of the arts itself, but a study of the arts as part of cultural practices and reveals a full range of hidden powers within the process.
