Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is compiled from research entitled “A jataka outside nibat in Lanna: A study of art history” which present an analysis of the mural painting of the Tripitaka Hall at Wat Chang Khong, Muang District, Chiangmai Province (Chao Su Wat and Nang Buo Kham jataka) together with a Su Wat manuscript (Kraw Tharm and Kraw Sho version). The results reveal that, although the structure of the painting is related to the manuscript in the Kraw Tharm version some aspects also relate to the manuscript in Kraw Sho version, especially, the influences of images found only in the So Wat Nang Pathum version of the Chao Phraya River cultural basin.
