Logistics activities affecting warehouse management: Case study of CP B&F (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

Abstract
This research aims to: 1) study the current state of warehouse management in the daily operations of CP B&F (Thailand) Co., Ltd., 2) analyze problems and prioritize critical issues affecting warehouse efficiency, and 3) propose solutions to enhance warehouse performance and reduce waste. A qualitative research approach was employed through semi-structured interviews, observations, and internal document analysis. The sample group consisted of 10 warehouse-related employees.
The results revealed that 1) the existing system was informal, lacking clear zoning, signage, and systematic product arrangement. This disorganization led to delays, increased product damage, and on-time delivery failures., 2) the highest-priority issue was the absence of designated storage areas by product category. This prioritization enabled the formulation of targeted and effective improvement strategies., and 3) using logistics management principles resulted in significant improvements: over 65% reduction in search and picking time, more than 60% reduction in movement distance, and over 80% cost reduction from product damage and losses. These changes also enhanced inventory accuracy, organization, and reduced issuing errors. The overall effect was a more efficient warehouse system with reduced waste and improved operational quality, contributing to enhanced customer satisfaction and competitive advantage.
