Need Analysis for Developing Academic Management of Tutorial Schools in Bangkok based on the Concept of Inclusive Education

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the current and desirable states as well as need analysis of developing academic management of Tutorial Schools in Bangkok based on the concept of Inclusive Education using academic administration and the concept of Inclusive Education. Informants were obtained from simple random sampling: from 55 Tutorial Schools in Bangkok verified by 5 experts, 52 administrators, 59 teachers, and 93 students, 204 informants in total. The instrument used in this research was a 5 rating-scaled questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Priority Needs Index. (PNI_modified).

The research results revealed that: 1) the current state of the developing academic management of Tutorial Schools in Bangkok based on the concept of Inclusive Education, overall, was at the moderate level, with the highest mean on curriculum development. As for the desired state of the developing academic management of tutorial schools in Bangkok based on the concept of Inclusive Education, overall, was at the highest level, with the highest mean on learning management. For the Priority need an index for developing academic management of tutorial schools in Bangkok based on the concept of Inclusive Education, it turned out that the highest PNI_modified was on measurement and evaluation (PNI_modified=0.513) while the lowest need fell on curriculum development (PNI_modified=0.414).
