The Effects of Business Intelligence Capability on Competitive Advantage and Firm Performance: Empirical Evidence from Thai Listed Companies

Abstract

    This research aims to investigate the effects of business intelligence system capability on competitive advantage and firm performance. A mail questionnaire was employed as a data collection instrument, gathered from chief executive officers of 173 Thai listed companies. The statistics used to test the hypotheses consisted of multiple correlation analyses and multiple regression analyses. The results indicate that business intelligence competency in sensing, transforming, and driving positively affect competitive advantages. Moreover, business intelligence competency in sensing and transforming positively affect firm performance. Additionally, competitive advantages have positive relationship and impacts on firm performance. According to the results, firms should prioritize creating the business intelligence capability to provide advantageous information supporting business decision-making, which can help firms see overall data from in-depth relationship analysis through an easy and beneficial presentation to wisely aid firms' decision-making, as well as to increase competitive advantages and lead to goal achievement for the firms.
