A Study of Learning Management Approaches Enhancing Innovative Thinking Skills for Junior High School Students

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the learning management approaches enhancing  innovative thinking skills for the junior high school students. This research methodology was descriptive research consisted of  three steps: the first step was a study of innovative thinking skills for junior high school students, the second was the developing a learning management approaches enhancing innovative thinking skills for junior high school students, and the third was a quality inspection of learning management approaches enhancing innovative thinking skills for junior high school students. The informant group was 10 government teachers and lecturers who had experiences in teaching and learning innovative thinking skills selected according to the specified criteria. The research tools were 1) a document and research synthesis form, 2) a semi-structured interview form, and 3) an appropriateness assessment form. The data was collected by 1) a document and research synthesis, 2) the synthesis of learning management approaches enhancing innovative thinking skills from interviewing the formants, and 3) the assessing the appropriateness of learning management approaches enhancing innovative thinking skills for junior high school students.  The data was analyzed using the data classification, the contents analysis, mean and standard deviation. The results from the research revealed that learning management approaches enhancing innovative thinking skills for junior high school students were as follows; 1) analyze the students’ nature and needs, 2) analyze the main concept from learning standards and curriculum indicators, 3) check the basic knowledge of the learners, 4) create a consistent situation with the phenomenon, 5) generate the concept with active learning,  6) provide collaborative learning activities, and 7) use authentic assessment. From experts’ assessment of the appropriateness of learning management approaches enhancing innovative thinking skills for junior high school students found that  theses 7 learning management approaches were appropriate at the highest level (= 4.80, SD.= 0.26) and the benefit of this research was providing  teachers the learning management approaches enhancing innovative thinking skills for junior high school students.
