Development of Teaching and Learning Model for an Online Music Skills Practice Course for Undergraduate Students at the College of Music, Mahasarakham University

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to develop teaching and learning model for the online music skills practice course for undergraduate students at the College of Music, Mahasarakham University, and to evaluate the use of the teaching and learning model of the online music skills practice course for the undergraduate students at the College of Music, Mahasarakham University. The target group in the research consisted of six students who had registered for a music practice skills course (Western Vocal) in Semester 3/2021. The research instrument was a teaching model of an online music practice course, College of Music, Mahasarakham University, which was evaluated by the experts. The research was conducted using research and development methodology. There are 4 phases as follows: Phase 1 the study and analysis of basic data, Phase 2 the invention of the teaching and learning model, Phase 3 the evaluation of the use of the teaching and learning model, and Phase 4 the certification of the teaching and learning model. The data was analyzed using mean, and standard deviations (S.D.). The results found that the components of the teaching and learning models of the online music practice course for undergraduate students at the College of Music, Mahasarakham University consisted of 1) the preparation of the learners, 2) the learning activities, 3) the social interactions between the learners, and 4) the transference of knowledge to the learners. The teaching and learning processes divided into 6 steps as follows: step 1 orientation, step 2 the lesson introduction, step 3: knowledge creation, step 4: musical skills practice, step 5: the learning exchange activities, and Step 6: the performance show. The result of using this teaching and learning models found that the collaboration between learners was at the high level ( =4.41, S.D.=0.58), the performance on musical skills practice of the students was at the high level ( = 4.28, S.D.=0.79), and the overall of students’ class attendance behavior was at the high level ( =4.33, S.D.=0.49).
