Health Care Guidelines During Covid-19 Crisis by Applying Buddhist Principles

Abstract
This research aims to study Buddhist principles for health care during Covid-19 crisis and to study guidelines for applying Buddhist principles for health care during the Covid-19 crisis. This project applies qualitative research with interviewing 27 people including 23 monks, scholars, and agencies that are responsible for promoting Buddhism. They interested in Buddhist principles while exploring ways applying such principles for taking care of their health during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research results showed that the Buddhist principles for health care during the Covid-19 crisis are included: Mindfulness, Precaution, the Four Noble Truths, Impermanent, Four Principles Virtuous Existence and Wholesomeness. In addition, the applied guidelines as developed from the Buddhist principles in order totake care of for the studied populations’ health during the Covid-19. Such applied Buddhist guidlines were included: doing good deeds for yourself and the public, changing oneself to be the active agency is not the victim through consciousness, use encouragement to resolve to overcome obstacles, and learning to create simple happiness. This research contributes to the society in guiding people some alternative directions for health care-taking and pandemic prevention during the Covid-19 crisis.
