Abstract

The process of public relations for both public and private organizations will always follow the policies, and such operations require a public relations strategy to assist them. As a result, management will be efficient. The objective of this study was to study the process of tourism public relations in the Savannakhet of information, culture and tourism department of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It is quantitative research. The research population consisted of 72 people who worked in public relations using purposive sampling. The statistics used to analyze the data were descriptive statistics: frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed the process of tourism public relations at the Savannakhet of Information, Culture and Tourism Department in overall was at a moderate level of opinion. It found that communication and research was at a high level of opinion. Moreover, It was found that planning and evaluation was at a moderate level of opinion. The results indicate that further research should be conducted with tourists who receive tourism information. This study could be used as a guideline for improving public relations, such as planning and evaluation for relevant agencies working in public relations to achieve the maximum benefit to organizations and agencies for development planning and implementation. This research is different from previous research that has studied media public relations and public relations communication strategy.
