Abstract
The research on “Status of knowledge about crisis management and crisis communications printed on Public Relations Review journal in 2003-2007” aims to study about various issues of essay, research paper, and findings about crisis management and crisis communications printed on Public Relations Review journal in 2003-2007. Research method is based on documentary research include content analysis for study about concept ideas related to the three-stage approach in each issue.
The research were finding that contents printed on the journal presented on in-depth study following each stage of crisis event in any situation or organization, such as Pre-crisis stage that related to preparedness management plan; communication plan; and training for encounter that crisis. Crisis event stage that related to crisis response like selecting on mass media; channel; contents; characters; and appropriated strategies. Post-crisis period that applied some data about the past crisis for develop plan and strategies for encounter the crisis in the future; including investigating about the crisis has finished with satisfaction for every group of stakeholder.
The research also were finding about characteristics divided to 3 groups, such as : first group gave some form/procedure for respond to the crisis with quick response; consistent message; and openness of organization. Second group gave some contents for announce to target group like instructing information; adjusting information; and reputation repair. And, third group gave some factors effects to management and operations about the crisis, such as crisis preparedness; organization culture; and pressure groups.
