Keywords:
Warehouse management, Warehouse systemAbstract
This research is a qualitative method, aiming to find a solution for the medical warehouse system problems of a pharmacy company in Nakhon Pathom Province, from which the drugstore manager and staff related to the warehouse management process are interviewed regarding the existing problems. The data collected has analyzed and classified in accordance with the theory of inventory management principles (ABC Analysis), by analyzing inventory items applying pricing criteria for dividing into groups using Microsoft Excel. Moreover, FIFO principle is adopted in this research to increase the efficiency of warehouse management.
The study found that designing a new warehouse in accordance with ABC classification by prioritizing each product category can facilitate warehouse management. In this regard, when using the zone storage method according to ABC combining with the use of FIFO system to solve the problem can increase warehouse management efficiency. This allows staff to store products more conveniently in picking operations and with a reduction of the expiration date of pharmaceutical products. As a result, the warehouse activities can be managed more efficiently and effectively.
