The Situation of Nostalgia Tourism to Accommodate MICE Travelers: A case Study of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

The two objectives of this research were (1) to explore the readiness of Nostalgia Tourism destination to accommodate MICE Travelers in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, and (2) to study the situation of MICE sector (Meetings, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibitions) in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. A qualitative approach is applied to use as a frame for the study, based on observation notes was carried out. The data also was collected using the semi-structure interview from key informants. To explore the readiness of Nostalgia Tourism destination to accommodate MICE Travelers, which the observation list consists of 6As of tourism destinations such as Attractions, Accessibility, Amenities, Available Packages, Activities and Ancillary Services. The research found that there are 8 destinations for nostalgia tourism to accommodate MICE Travelers in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province which are Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, Wat Niwet Thammaprawat Ratchaworawihan, Japanese Village, Wat Mahathat (Ayutthaya), Wat Chaiwatthanaram, Sufficiency Economy Learning Center BAN-KONG-POR, Lad Cha Dow Market, and Baan Khunpitakborriharn.
