Health Promotion Activities and Satisfaction with Services of the Member of Longevity Club of Thailand

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study and compare the health promoting behavior levels and satisfaction with services of the members of Longevity Club of Thailand classified by socio demographic characteristics, and to determine the health promotion activities appropriate for the members of Longevity Club of Thailand. A cross sectional study was conducted using randomized sample (n= 125) of the members of longevity club of Thailand. A questionnaire was used for collecting data. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, F test. Research findings were as follows: The members of Longevity Club of Thailand had the overall aspects of health promoting behavior at the high level ( ̅=3.06). The spiritual growth was at a highest level ( ̅=3.38). The level of satisfaction with services of the members, overall and all aspects were at the high level ( ̅=3.71). The physical environment aspect was at a highest level ( ̅=3.91). The members who have different genders or ages have no significant difference, while the members who have different education levels, and frequency of using have a significant difference at a statistically significant level of 0.05 and the satisfaction with services of the members classified by the socio demographic characteristics, the members who have different genders, marital status, average monthly incomes, occupations, family order, source of income, frequency of using and activities on service have a significant difference at the statistically significant level of 0.05. The health promotion activities appropriate for the members of Longevity Club of Thailand should be activities that promote the good relationship and contribute to the joint activities of its members, to make more physical activity, to create more awareness of health information and have better mental health. In conclusion, the health promotion activities and satisfaction with services of the member of Longevity Club of Thailand were at high level. There were significant different levels of health promoting behaviors and satisfaction classified by the demographic characteristics. Thus, the activities for the members should focus on promote the relationships, physical activity, and health education accounting the different demographic.
