Integrated group counseling to decrease psychological impact in crisis event of secondary school students in Pattani Province

The research aimed to study the effects of Integrated group counseling to decrease psychological impact in crisis event of secondary school students in Pattani Province. They were 12 voluntary students by criteria and randomized into 2 groups equally 6 in the experimental and the control. The experimental group participated in integrated group counseling for 14 sessions. Each lasted one hour and 30 minutes. The control group received psycho-education for 14 sessions per one and a half hour. The research tools were 1) Integrated Group Counseling Program, 2) Psycho-education Program, and 3) Thai General Health Questionnaire (Thai GHQ – 28). The statistics used to analyze the data were mean, standard deviation, Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed rank test and Mann-Whitney U test.
The results were as follow: 1) The average psychological impact among the students in the experimental group after the intervention was significantly lower than that before the experiment (p<.05) 2). The average psychological impact among the students in the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group after the intervention (p<.05).
