A Study the Reading Behavior Printed media and Electronic Media Of Undergraduate Students in Faculty of Education At Naruesuan University

This research aimed to investigate 1) printed and electronic media reading behaviors among undergraduate students, and 2) undergraduate students’ opinions on printed and electronic media. The subjects of the study were 180 undergraduate students of the Faculty of Education, Naresuan University, and the instrument was a questionnaire. The study found that 1) the students read whenever they had an opportunity and spent over 60 minutes reading. They read printed media at home, and electronic media at the dormitory. They read every day, and the source of the printed media was the university library, and the source of the electronic media was the Internet. The behavior while they were reading was listening to music. The purpose of reading was to pass examinations of the courses or the program they took, and the main reason for reading was self-interest. Printed media that students were interested in at a high level were magazines/journals while electronic media they were interested in at a high level were in educational technology and computer studies. 2) Students’ opinion on printed media was that this type of media was convenient to store and read again afterwards, and their opinion on electronic media was that part of the text could be used to search for further information through a search engine for them to learn more.
