Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study factors affecting the university lecturers’ work engagement. The samples were 400 hundred lecturers in Songkhla Province. Stratified random sampling was used for each university. Data were collected by questionnaires and LISREL 8.80 was used to analyze the data. The results revealed that organizational citizenship behavior and transformational leadership had direct effect on work engagement, and found that organizational justice and transformational leadership had indirect effect on work engagement through organizational citizenship behavior.

There fore, university leaders should behave as role models for the benefit of the community and the university should consider the administration of justice in the organization because when lecturers recognize the justice, they will show organizational citizenship behavior which, in turn, increases work engagement.
