Abstract

This research aimed to examine how support for human capital development expenses impacts the performance of companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Data were collected from annual reports (Form 56-1) of a sample of 386 companies across seven industrial groups over a three-year period from 2021 to 2023. The researcher employed multiple regression analysis. The findings indicated that human capital development was positively associated with return on assets (ROA) and Tobin’s Q, while no significant relationship was found with return on equity (ROE). This research is beneficial for companies and investors by highlighting the importance of supporting human capital development to enhance organizational competitiveness. Moreover, executives can apply the findings as a policy guideline for developing critical skills to enhance employee potential, thereby improving operational efficiency and achieving better returns.
