GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPING STEP-UP STRATEGY OF SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES OF FOOD INDUSTRY IN BANGKOK AREA

This research aims to: 1) Develop step-up strategy for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the food industry in Bangkok. 2) Examine the success of SMEs in the food industry in Bangkok after implementing the step-up strategy. 3) Explore approaches to developing step-up strategy that influence the success of SMEs in the food industry in Bangkok. This mixed-methods research employed concepts and theories related to innovation types, step-up strategy, and the success of SMEs as its research framework. The sample consisted of 400 SME operators in the food industry in Bangkok, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Two research instruments were used: 1) questionnaires and 2) in-depth interview guidelines. Data was analyzed using basic statistics and inferential statistics, including multiple regression analysis for quantitative research. Qualitative research involved context analysis and descriptive narratives.
The findings revealed that: 1) Developing a step-up strategy for SMEs in the food industry in Bangkok requires innovation and technological development, which significantly impacts the success of these enterprises. 2) step-up strategy has a significant influence on the success of SMEs in the food industry in Bangkok. 3) Approaches to developing step-up strategy significantly influence the success of SMEs in the food industry in Bangkok.
The findings of this research can be beneficial for applying innovation to step-up SMEs in the food industry in Bangkok, which is crucial for enhancing competitiveness and achieving sustainable growth.
