SPA IMPORTANCE PERCEPTIONS THROUGH FIVE SENSES AND DEMAND OF SERVICE FACTORS ON THAI MASSAGE AND SPA FOR HOLISTIC HEALTH CARE OF ELDERLY

The purposes of this research article are to 1) analyze the of the spas importance perception through the five senses and 2) analyze the demand of service of service factors in Thai massage and spa for holistic health care of elderly. It is quantitative research. Studied the concepts of spa standards and spa design to satisfy all five senses is the research framework. The sample group was 400 elderly people. The samples were selected using purposive random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using basic statistics to find the average.
The research results found as followed: 1) Spa perceptions for holistic health have the highest perception of the importance of being healthy, disease-free, and good humored, followed by a quiet, relaxing atmosphere, and massage helps the nervous system work better, respectively. 2) The need for service factors for using Thai massage and spa services for holistic health care of the elderly has 5 aspects. There is the greatest need for service factors for service providers, followed by the organizational aspect. products, tools, equipment, services, and environment, respectively.
The findings from the research are that the elderly place importance on holistic health care. Perceived through the five senses, namely images that emphasize the atmosphere of the place. The flavor emphasizes the presence of ingredients to expel toxins. The scent emphasizes a relaxing aroma. The sound emphasizes music, waterfalls, and birds singing to help relax, and the touch emphasizes massage to help the nervous system work better.
