SUPERHERO IN AVENGERS MOVIE: THE GUIDELINE TO CREATE SOCIAL ROLE MODEL IN THERAVADA BUDDHIST PHILOSOHY

This research has the objective 1) To study the methods for creating social role models in Theravada Buddhist philosophy. 2) To study the superheroes in the Avengers movies. 3) To analyze the superhero in the movie Avengers: Guidelines for creating social role models in Theravada Buddhist philosophy. It is document research. By studying from the Tripitaka, commentary, textbooks, Avengers movies 1-4, related research documents and in-depth interviews. Then the information obtained is compiled, categorized, content analyzed and presented accordingly. The results of the research showed that: 1. Guidelines for creating social role models in Theravada Buddhist philosophy are divided into two types: (1) creating role models for monastic society and (2) creating role models for lay society. With Buddhist principles to serve as a good example for Buddhists and the general public. 2. Superhero in the Avengers movie There are 12 people with special powers and 7 ordinary people, for a total of 19 people. Created by Marvel Scientific Universe, there are 4 parts and 22 related movies. Superheroes There is something greater than magical powers, namely morality. There are 134 principles which correspond to the principles of Theravada Buddhist philosophy. 3. Superheroes in the Avengers movie: Guidelines for creating social role models in Theravada Buddhist philosophy There are 2 differences: (1) methods of dealing with problems (2) ultimate goals, and 2 similarities: (1) being a good, moral person (2) guidelines for creating role models. From research, the Model SPBS knowledge is created, which includes Seek, which means seeking good people with morals, Build, which means creating role models, Promote, which means promoting opportunities, and Support, which means supporting further development.
