THE NOSTALGIA TOURISIM DEVELOPMENT FOR CREATING AND INCREASING THE VALUE BY COMMUNITY

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study problems and demands of Nostalgia tourism, 2) develop Nostalgia tourism activities for creating and increasing the value by community. This research and development were to study the concept of Nostalgia tourism. The information was historical informers, community leader, operators, and tourists. The sample was Purposive Sampling of 12 people. This research used In-depth and Group Interviews, Participant and Non-Participant Observations, and Focus Group. Additionally, the information was investigated using Data Analysis in Phenomenology and Theoretical.

The results of this research found that the problems of successful Nostalgia tourism of Pakphanang were changing environment, abundant mosquitoes, and plentiful garbage from Pakphanang River that destroyed the beautiful landscape. In history, there were few of community storytellers. The tourism was in some areas. Moreover, tourism information connection in the same direction was not clearly of tourism operators, community, organizations, departments, and the people who managed tourism activities. The results of historical tourism activities development for creating and increasing the value by community presented that the photographs and historical antiques of prosperous history information should collect to easily learning for the tourists in appreciative and proud of successful past. The storytellers should train for interesting story. Besides, tourism operators and community should develop to cooperate for presenting the Pakphanang highlights. There were mullet menu which was abundant and delicious local fish, mullet was in only three water area (fresh, salt, and brackish water), dessert from Nipa Palm Sugar, convenient accommodations near Pakphanang River, also rowboat and ancient pontoon to feeling in the past environment and impressive history place.
