Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the personality traits of the main characters in David Grann’s translated novel Killers of the flower Moon, using the framework of E. M. Forster (1974) as a guideline for analysis. The results of the study revealed that there were three main characters in the story: Mollie Burkhart, Hale K. Burkhart, and Ernest Burkhart, all of whom are round characters with dynamic traits based on each person's age and life experiences. Mollie is a deeply sober Osage Indian with tribal ties and a loving family. Hale is a white American with a paradoxical personality. On the one hand, he is tolerant and generous, but at the same time, he is a cunning person and has a ruthless personality. As Hale's grandson and Mollie's husband, Ernest is a frail and unstable man. Yet his love for his wife was true love.
