Infographics and Information Dissemination for Handling COVID-19 Crisis

Abstract
Since Thailand has been facing the ongoing crisis of COVID-19 pandemic, information dissemination is crucially needed to promote public awareness of the outbreak and the risk factors. Also, it is important that people have awareness and know how to take care of themselves and protect themselves from getting infected with COVID-19 as well as changing their daily living habits. Thus, this article aims to present how infographics can be utilized in information dissemination to handle the ongoing crisis of COVID-19. This article relied on the literature review and exploration of the use of infographics in the Thai government’s information dissemination about COVID-19. The contents in the infographic media employed in information dissemination to handle the crisis of COVID-19 must be comprehensive. It must provide general information, knowledge, practices, promotion of the understanding of risk factors, promotion of awareness, behavioral adaptation methods, promotion of participation, and channels for people to voice their opinions. In terms of the design, it should focus on a single topic, keeping it simple and telling a story. The design should also be engaging with attractive colors and concise information. The infographic file size must be small, allowing its target audience to easily get access to it and download it with great ease. In terms of the development approach, the infographics should be tailored to serve specific target groups and must be practical for use, circulation and promotion as effective media and infographics can lead to more effective measures to handle the COVID-19 pandemic.
