ความเข้าใจพื้นฐานเกี่ยวกับ “อัตชาติพันธุ์วรรณนา”

บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำเสนอความหมาย พัฒนาการและลักษณะสำคัญของระเบียบวิธีวิจัยอัตชาติพันธุ์วรรณนา (Autoethnography) ซึ่งเป็นแนวทางการศึกษาที่มุ่งเน้นการสะท้อนประสบการณ์ภายใต้บริบทสังคมและวัฒนธรรมผ่านมุมมองเชิงปัจเจกของผู้วิจัย บทความนำได้นำเสนอประวัติเส้นทางของแนวคิดอัตชาติพันธุ์วรรณนา ตั้งแต่การปรากฏขึ้นของคำในปี ค.ศ. 1975 ไปจนถึงการพัฒนาแนวทางโดย David Hayano (1979) และนักวิชาการรุ่นต่อมา เช่น Carolyn Ellis & Arthur Bochner (2000) การศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นว่าอัตชาติพันธุ์วรรณนาเป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญที่ช่วยให้สามารถวิเคราะห์ตนเอง (self-analysis) ผ่านการเล่าเรื่อง (narrative inquiry) และการสะท้อนคิด (self-reflection) อันนำไปสู่ความเข้าใจที่ลึกซึ้งต่อปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบุคคลกับสังคม
อย่างไรก็ตามแนวทางนี้ยังคงเผชิญกับข้อถกเถียงเกี่ยวกับความน่าเชื่อถือ (validity) อคติ (bias) และการวางนัยทั่วไป (generalization) เนื่องจากเป็นการศึกษาที่มีมิติของอัตวิสัยสูง บทความนี้ได้วิเคราะห์ข้อดีและข้อจำกัดของอัตชาติพันธุ์วรรณนา พร้อมทั้งเสนอแนะแนวทางเพื่อพัฒนากรอบการวิจัยที่เหมาะสมยิ่งขึ้น โดยมุ่งเน้นการตรวจสอบความน่าเชื่อถือ การบูรณาการแนวคิดทางวิชาการและการขยายการใช้ระเบียบวิธีนี้ในศาสตร์อื่น
