บทบาทของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัย ในการสนับสนุนการวิจัยของมหาวิทยาลัย

บทความนี้นำเสนอบทวิเคราะห์และสังเคราะห์บทบาทของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัยในการสนับสนุนการวิจัยของมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัย ตอบสนองนโยบายและกลยุทธ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัยซึ่งมีเกณฑ์การประเมินและตัวชี้วัดที่แตกต่างจากมหาวิทยาลัยทั่วไป เอกสารที่นำมาวิเคราะห์และสังเคราะห์ ประกอบด้วย สิ่งพิมพ์และสื่ออิเล็กทรอนิกส์ที่มีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับ แผนกลยุทธ์ของมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัยของไทย สภาพแวดล้อมที่มีผลกระทบต่อบทบาทห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัย แนวคิดและลักษณะของมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัย ตัวบ่งชี้เพื่อการขับเคลื่อนในการพัฒนามหาวิทยาลัยวิจัยแห่งชาติ  และบทบาทของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัยทั้งในและต่างประเทศ

ผลการวิเคราะห์พบว่า  บทบาทของห้องสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยวิจัยในการสนับสนุนการวิจัยของมหาวิทยาลัยมี 5 ด้านดังนี้ 1) บทบาทในการสนับสนุนการตีพิมพ์ผลงานทางวิชาการ 2) บทบาทในการเป็นทั้งผู้เชี่ยวชาญสารสนเทศเฉพาะ และผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศในการให้บริการ 3) บทบาทในการสื่อสารทางวิชาการ 4) บทบาทในการเป็นผู้ให้ความรู้หรือการสอนหรือให้การอบรมผู้ใช้บริการ และ 5) บทบาทในการเป็นผู้บริหารจัดการด้านการส่งมอบบริการสารสนเทศ การสร้างเมทาตาด้า และการรวบรวมรักษาสารสนเทศและความรู้ของมหาวิทยาลัย

Abstract

This article presents the analysis and synthesis study of the roles of research university libraryin supporting the university’s research in response to the policy and strategies of the research universitywhich have different criteria for evaluation and performance indicators from the general university. Thedocuments which were analyzed and synthesized included the printed and electronic materials containedthe topics on the strategic plans of Thai research universities, the environments that have had impacts on roles of research university library, concepts and characteristics of research university, indicators for thedevelopment of the national research university and the roles of research university library in Thailand andforeign counties.

The results of analysis revealed that the roles of research university library in supporting theuniversity’s research comprised of 5 roles: (1) supporting the university’s research publishing, (2) convergingthe roles of subject-based information expert and the information technology expert for the services,(3) supporting the university scholarly communication, (4) providing knowledge or teaching or training thelibrary users, and (5) managing the information delivery, creating metadata, and collecting and preservingthe university’s information and knowledge.
