The Furniture Design Utilizing the Identity of Local Textile in the Sisaket Province

Abstract

          The objectives of this creative research were 1) to investigate the traditional fabric handicraft patterns in Sisaket Province, 2) to design furniture from the application of the identity of local fabric patterns in Sisaket Province, and 3) to evaluate the satisfaction level achieved through the integration of appropriate pattern identity in furniture design. The research findings revealed that the native cloth patterns in Sisaket Province exhibited distinct designs and color schemes that preserved traditional knowledge. The Sisaket woven cloth included specific patterns such as the Khor pattern ( = 4.20), Chuangtian pattern ( = 4.18), and Chuangtian Khu pattern ( = 4.16). The furniture designs were aligned with the local textile patterns of Sisaket Province. Among the products examined by the experts, the chair exhibited the greatest degree of local identity preservation (  = 4.37). 3). The satisfaction assessment of a specific sample of 100 persons indicated that they were satisfied with both the shape and structure (  = 4.39) and the pattern and aesthetics (mean = 4.36).
