Flora and Creatures: Characteristics in Northeastern Folktale: Lam Noktendon

Abstract

                  This study aims to study northeastern folktale ‘Lam Noktendon’, transliterated and composed by Puwadol Yoopan’, Ancient Document Conservation Group, The Research Institute of Northeastern Art and Culture, Maha Sarakham University, with the purpose is to study how to call the types and characters of flora and creatures. As the result, Lam Noktendon has 2 types which are specific call and non-specific call. In case of the characteristic, there are 4 characteristics to show the way of life, to express the emotions, to be some particle of magical things, and to proceed the story. Concludingly, in assumption, the composer might select flora and creatures to proceed the story to be interesting, literary arts, stirring up the feelings, and showing up the composer’s knowledge which reflected the way of life and well recorded the vocabulary of flora and creatures.
