Wisdom Cultural Heritage of Ethnic Groups in Buriram Province

Abstract

        The wisdom cultural heritage information about local communities in Buriram province a purpose to collect information on intangible cultural heritage of ethnic communities in the local community in Buriram Province has been collected and carried out by visiting the target areas and gathering representatives of cultural groups. The representatives of each group were selected by considering their ethnic groups and districts where they have been residing in Buriram province. There are four ethnic groups with their distinctive cultural identity were found in four districts as follows: 1) Thai-Lao ethnic groups were collected in Napho district. 2) Thai-Khmer ethnic groups were gathered in Huairat district. 3) Thai-Korat ethnic groups were selected in Nangrong district. And 4) Thai-Kui or Suai ethnic groups were collected in Satuek district. The data obtained could be utilized to promote, preserve and inherit the local culture and wisdom to remain in society. Dissemination of the local culture and wisdom information to the new generations will help them know and understand their wisdom cultural heritage, and it will be another way to promote and inherit the local culture. Moreover, this method is easy for them to understand Buriram identity of cultural resources. Awareness of Buriram people to conserve cultural resources will also be cultivated.
