Factors Affecting Economic Development Policy Implementation at Tambon Municipality in Buriram Province

Abstract
This study was a mixed method of quantitative and qualitative research. The objectives of this research were 1) to study factors affecting the implementation of community’s economic development policy, 2) to compare the factors affecting the implementation of community’s economic development policy, and (3) to examine the problem of using community’s economic development policy and to figure out the way to elevate the success of the application of community’s economic development policy of Tambon municipality in Buriram province. The samples were divided into 2 groups. The first group was collected the data by using a questionnaire which consisted of 187 persons. In this group, the sample was determined by using Taro Yamane’s method. The second group was interviewed in order to collect the data which included 20 persons selected from the officers of Tambon municipality in Buriram province by using a purposive sampling method. Research instruments were checklist, rating scale and structured interview. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean and standard deviation. The finding of this research conveyed that overall factors affecting community’s economic development policy was at a high level. When considered each factor, it was found that all factor were also at a high level. These factors can be sorted according to their level, from the highest to the least, as follows: resources allocation factor, promotion and participation factor, leader factor, organization structure factor, community’s economic development policy factor, controlling factor and evaluation and activation factor, respectively. When compared the factors that affected the implementation of community’s economic development policy, it was found that age and work positions were not different at the statistical significance level of 0.5. However, sex and educational levels showed differences at the statistical significance level of 0.5.
