War, Light of Dharma and Democracy: Beginning of Buddhist Curriculum in Thai Education System

Abstract

This paper aims to study: how was Buddhist Curriculum in Thai Education found in Thai
education system that took place in the curriculum in B.E.2521 based on the methodology of
documentary research and review of Thai curriculum development in addition, to the terms,
conditions, and contexts, it was found that Buddhist curriculum developmenthad been connect to

social, political and economic contexts cold war context. The Buddhist curriculum is closely
linked to the ideological, liberal, democratic and communist socialist ideology against Communist
ideology. The Thai state and its allies have made great strides in interrupting communist ideology.
The Buddhist curriculum is the one important tool to establish Thai civics committed to democracy
and fearfullof Communist terrorists.
